Prepared for Dr Rafal and Healing Choices Clinic at Landmark Rehabilitation Hospital.
Hypnosis
the mind and body
Hypnosis can contribute to far-reaching health benefits. Research has shown its usefulness with a wide variety of pressing health issues. Results are achieved by working with ideas, emotion and imagery within hypnosis. For more detail, the PHC website (www.provhyp.com) displays links to research results for complementary medical applications of hypnotherapy.
what is hypnosis?
It is a relaxed yet highly focused state of mind. In this condition the inner mind is receptive to beneficial ideas and suggestions. The effectiveness of hypnosis is drawn from its unique ability to mobilize these inner resources. Long tested and new techniques are combined to provide the health benefits described here.
By using well-crafted suggestions and ideas remarkable changes can occur quickly. Response and degree of success do vary, but we see a consistent level of meaningful, lasting change.
Hypnotherapy vs Myths
Many think of hypnosis as a form of control. This is not the case. The process is far more graceful and interesting than this. Hypnosis is a fascinating process of communication and cooperation. It can be playful and amusing, as evidenced by the popularity of stage shows. It can also be breathtaking to witness the therapeutic applications of hypnotherapy and EFT.
Professional hypnotherapy is a very safe, enjoyable and comfortable process. It mobilizes internal resources for change and growth. These natural skills are simply an undeveloped part of our social and individual evolution
Fibromyalgia
Hypnosis can be very helpful in dealing with the pain, sleep issues and the mental fog associated with fibromyalgia. Suggestion is used to reduce anxiety, improve sleep and manage pain. The process has been effective at giving fibromyalgia sufferers a sense of balance and control of their lives.
Group sessions are conducted for five consecutive weeks at Rehabilitation Hospital in collaboration with Dr. Keith Rafal. They are scheduled for late Monday afternoon.
